Atlanta's telecom company USCarrier Telecom has announced that it plans to extend its optical fiber network into Birmingham and Montgomery area for providing high-speed services to telephone firms. USCarrier has stated that it is planning to complete the fiber optic network expansion by early part of 2009. USCarrier presently has over 3,400 route-miles of fiber optic network which links over 40 cities in areas including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, the Southeast and Tennessee.
