A senior official of the Mexican government has announced that the country is planning to tender radio frequencies for WiMax, mobile phone as well as mobile internet in the Q1 (first quarter) of 2009. In an interview with the Reuters, Deputy Communication and Transport Minister Purificacion Carpinteyro said that the government remains committed to go ahead wit its decision to tender the spectrum. He added that the tender process is expected to commence by beginning of 2009.
