Verizon Wireless Supports Cell Tax Fainess Effort for Wireless Consumers

At a Congressional hearing called today by U.S. Rep. Linda Sanchez, Chair of the House Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law, expert witnesses extolled consumer benefits about the importance of prohibiting new discriminatory wireless taxes from being imposed. H.R. 5793, the Cell Tax Fairness Act of 2008, calls for a five-year moratorium from any new discriminatory wireless taxes. Steve Zipperstein, vice president and general counsel at Verizon Wireless, made the following statement after yesterday's hearing.
